Sunday 28th October 2018

I am not usually very keen on walks in Leicestershire as it is normally along a series of very muddy tracks. And as it had rained heavily on the Saturday evening I was not expecting much different.

But WOW!! This walk was fantastic. No doubt blue skies enhance any walk, but the stretch along the ridge between Hallaton and East Norton (which I can not recall walking before) was brilliant – a lovely grassy track, the sun shining and views on both sides.

We stopped along this ridge for our lunch and sat taking in the view and soaking up the sun as we did so.

The villages of Hallaton and East Norton have some very old buildings which provided plenty of interest as we walked through.

Our final visiting place for the day was the Fox and Hounds in Tugby which was serving Bass which I had not seen for ages. So a pleasantly surprising great day.

Walk rating – Extremely good.

Although the skies were generally blue, there was an isolated rain shower around, which didn't pass overhead but did give us a lovely rainbow.
