We have booked into Ironbridge Coalport Youth Hostel which is positioned within the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, home to 10 family–friendly museums, littered with industrial archaeology and brimming with places to grab a bite to eat or a drink. The Youth Hostel is situated in one of the original factory buildings of the Coalport China Works on the banks of the river Severn, with canal paths and old railway line walking routes to the iconic Iron Bridge. The hostel is licensed and has a self–catering kitchen.
Walking in the area will be in and around the Severn Valley, with a trip up the Wrekin nearby, an option for those that haven't done it.
We will travel up on Friday at times to suit everybody, walk Friday for those travelling up early, then walk Saturday and have another walk on Sunday before returning home.
The cost will be £56.50 which covers accommodation on Friday and Saturday and breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. We will probably go to a local hostelry for our evening meals. If you would like packed lunches, they will cost an extra £5.75 each. Mileage costs will be in the order of £20. Non–members are subject to an additional payment of £3. You need to send a completed booking form (to be found in the Newsletter) and your payment to Andy by Sunday 13th January to book your place.
Places may be limited. First come first served. If you don't fancy the Youth Hostel why not look into booking your own accommodation locally.
